I love books.

The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys - Earlier this year I picked up The Scorpio Races, which I adored. When I saw that Stiefvater had a new book, I read the synopsis and wasn't all that excited about it.I kept seeing it on lists and stuff, though, adn then I discovered that my library had it, so I requested it, and then it sat for a few days as I finished other things.I picked it up the other night, thinking I'd read for a short while and then I'd get sleepy and be done with it for the night.Ha. It grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Loved this so much. She leaves a lot unsaid, which is discomforting, but in a good way. The disturbing and unusual is just presented as if it is matter of fact real, and you just go with it, because that's the way it is. I liked that the love interest(s) didn't just work themselves out in neat finish. It was obviously the beginning of a series, and while it left a lot unresolved, I didn't feel like it was a cliffhanger that made me angry. I didn't want to throw it across the room when I was done, the way I've felt about some books that were clearly just the opening of a trilogy....I read it so fast, I suspect that I missed a lot of detail, and will plan on re-reading (which I don't do often), when the next installment comes out...which won't be soon enough, I'm sure...
